Microsoft un terminal hizmetleri tarafında server 2008 ile beraber gelen hizmetlerden biri olan TS Remote App, daha önce kullanıcıların her birinin ayrı bir oturum açarak kullandıkları uygulamaları çok daha az donanım kaynağı tüketerek ve fiziksel anlamda bir oturum açmadan istemci tarafında çalıştırılabilmesini sağlamaktadır. Daha önce istemcinin sunucu tarafında bir uygulama çalıştırabilmesi için öncelikle RDC ile TS üzerinden kendi oturumunu alması daha sonra kendi oturumundaki uygulamayı çalıştırması gerekmekteydi.
